An enthusiastic meeting, attended by a gathering of twenty, was held last evening, when it was unanimously decided to resuscitate the Wanganui Amateur Athletic Association Mr. R. Bond presided, and there were numerous apologies received, including one from Mr. L Cohen, president of the old club.
The question of holding a sports meeting was fully discussed, and it was decided to hold evening meetings in the near future.
The following officers were electd: —President, Mr. L. Cohen; vicepresidents, Messrs J. R Foster, C. Brodie, H. J. Cameron, Russell .Ste•venson, N. McKenzie Forbes, R. Bond, A. J. Weekes, and J. Goss, sen.; committee: Messrs F Packer, G Benson, J. Goss, jun. E. Douglas, A. G. Cork, and J. Lynch; secretary, Mr W. S. Corby; treasurer, Mr. S. Kernohan; auditor, Mr A J. Weekes.
A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the press for their efforts in encouraging athletics in Wanganui
