ANITA STEWART IN "THE \ COMBAT," AT HIS MAJESTY'S TO-NIGHT.

"The Combat," which is claimed to be the greatest picture in which Anita Stewart, has appeared, will be .screened at His Mu'e.sty'.s Theatre to-night. The main theme of the story is tlie fight of a young girl against her second husband for the life of her first. There are said to be some thrilling scenes, such as the wreck of a large passenger train, a sensational court-scene, .in which the prisoner jumps through a window and makes hi;> escape, the tight of the hero for his life, and last, but not least, the great battle of conscience which rages in the heart of the unfortunate girl. A two-part Keystone'comedy will be screened, amongst others.

"KITTY MACKAY" AND "MY FIGHTING GENTLEMAN."

The usual mid-week change of programme will be screened at Everybody's to-day when two big: special dramas will be included in the ■ bill-oi'-fare. Lillian Walker, after a long absence, makes her reappearance in a sparkling Scotch drama, entitled "Kitty Mackay." Lillian Walker is ideal as the pretty and witty Scotch la&ue who goes to London to take up her rightful position as a lady of title. Her humour is delightful when the announcement is made, and she learns she is to leave the wash tub. It is said that Miss Walker his succeeded in not only acting, but being Scotch, and her work is perfect. The play is featured as a "play of gladness,' and it is. The second attraction will be "My Fighting Gentleman." In thi?« Mutual star feature we have the latest methods of •photography, production and vt?\e, that the industry has given us. A fine dramatic story, written by the clever authoress, Nell Shipman, has been transposed into (me ol; the mo it pleasing photo-dramas screened for some time. In six parts, with William Russell in the lead, and the pleasing Franceha Billington as the chief girl character, the picture is one that cannot fail to wore. Th« supports include "The. Fighting Forces, 1' which contains some very fine views of America preparing for war, "The Gaimiont. Graphic," and a screaming comedy.

The Protestant Policical Association's general secretary, Mr H. S. Bilby, is to be in Wanganui shortly. To" be ready for the vist it is ihc«ped that all membership cards will be "returned as quickly as possible.
