FOR "TO BOYS" IN FRANCE.

THE STORY OF A GREAT WORK

Among all the troops now fighting on the Western front, none are so well cared for or so liberally provided with the comforts and conveniences that the V.M.C.A. supplies as our New Zealand lads. This is the deliberate judgment of Mr A. Varney, National Secretary of the New Zealand V.M.C.A . who lias lately paid a lengthy visit of inspection to all the Association's agencies among our troops in Britain and France. He is visiting Wangamii this week, and on Saturday evening will address a public meeting in the Opera House, where he will have thrown on the screen^ a selection of some two hundred photographs illustrating phases of the soldier's life in England and France. _ Most of the pictures possess the additional interest of having been taken among groups of New Zealander;s. There will be no charge for admission, but during the evening a collection will be taken for V.M.C.A. war funds.

Mr Varney has also agreed to address a special meeting; of mothers of soldiers and their friends in the Opera House at 3 p.m. on Thursday.
