The King's appeal in connection wit. the Red Cross has drawn a magniticen response from the people of South land, and the treasurer has transmit ted £4600 to Wellington. There ar still some amounts to dome in, and i is certain that Southland, will' occup1 a gratifying position when tb<e figure for the whole Dominion are available
