MILITARY SERVICE BOARD.

WELLINGTON, February 6. At the Military Appeal Board, Mat--t&ew Bdyd Guise, a brass finisher, appealed on .the ground that his calling up would be contrary to public interest. He was the partner of a brass moulder, cjunsel pointed out that there was a distinct shortage of brass workers. Guise and his partner were engaged in •rilitary work contract, and also did important brass work in connection with milking and shearing machines.- and milk vats. The con-tracts entered into vould take nine months to complete. The Board adjourned the appeal until t-ho 22nd April, conditionally on every endeavour being made meanwhile to replace appellant.
