THE E. J. WATT CASE.
NAPIER, February 6. Magistrate Reid delivered judgment in the case against E. J. "Watt, the well-known farmer and horse-facer, for failing to register as a member or the First Division in, the Expedition* ary Force Reserve. The defendant claimed that he was a resident of Australia. The Magistrate said he had very little doubt that defendant was not a resident of New Zealand. Watt admitted he was born in New Zealand, but the evidence clearly showed lie had . transferred his interests to Australia, several years ago, and had since voted in an election in Queensland. Tiie police had offered no evidence to prove that Watt was liable to register in New Zealand, and the information would therefore be dismissed——i inn———l—l—■
