'Newspapers strongly approve Lord Devonpprt's announcements, pointing out that twelve loaves and fifteen pounds of meat weekly are ample for a household of six. T,he ''Daily Chronicle" says it is a troublesome fact that since the war '■ the country's consumption has shown an amazing increase owing to tlis growth of incomes among workers. Income cases this has put an end to previous under-feeding, but it mostly means spending the income upon most obvious pleasures.
