FIXING PRICES

LONDON, February 2. The Hon. E. E. Prothero, Minister of Agriculture, in addressing farmers at Maidstone, said that, the policy of fixed prices was the only fair and honest one. it gave the .farmer absolute .security, and was best also from the Imperial point of view; It had to be considered that we wanted a great Imperial policy for Britain, in order to be able to say to India, Australia, !Egypt, and Canada that the farmers of "Britain had sacrificed their war profits, and it is up to you to make a similar sacrifice for the good of the Empire. If we are able to get all the Dominions into this great movement we will be able to snap our finger 3at th© Chicago speculator. Mv Prothero believed that we could bring in the Dominions by fixing prices in Britain as a basis and key to the whole thing.
