New Zealand mutton is very scarce at Bfd per Ib, ewe mutton 8d; lightweight B§d; New Zealand *amb «£d; Argentine lambs 8 7-Bd-; New Zealand bull beef hinds 7d, fores 6d; Argentine chilled beef, hinds B£d, fores 7£d. The butter market continues firm. The Danish market is very quiet at 216s to 220s per cwt; Irish creamery, salted 204s to 208s, unsalted 203s to 2125; Australian salted. 204s to 208s, unsaltod 206s to 2125; N.Z., no arrivals; Argentine, unsalted 206s to 208s; American creamery, salted 190s to 1925. , The cheese market is active and is advancing. Canadian, white and coloured, 126s to 128s, English Cheddar 130s to 1325; United States flats. 122s to 1265. ■.••■.. The hemp market remains firm, but h affected by the expectation of light arrivals. Good fair New Zealand hemp | per ton £53 Is, fair £51; Government graded fair Manila £56 10s, coarse £53 10s; January-March, shipment, good fair N.Z. £52, fair £50 10s; Government graded fair Manila £56, coarse £53. The output of hemp from Manila for, the week ending Saturday, was 19,000 bales. The wheat market is quiet and steady. Business is dull, and quotations are misleading. The oats market is firm with an improved demand. New Zealand on spot 41s. The wool market is firm and unsettled, owing to reports concerning the j colonial clip.
