LOYAL TEMPERANCE LEGION

.The fortnightly meeting, of the Mathieson St. L.T.L. was held in the Chiircri of Christ chapel at 7 o'clock last evening. Master Linton Comne occupied the chair. There was a good attendance,, and three new members joined, making a total of 80. The Legion's aim is one hundred members before the close of the session. The minutes of the previous meeting were read l>y secretary, M A uriel Mailman, and connrmed. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to a sympathetic friend for kindly giving the Legion the use of her piano. The previous lesson on "Dresses" was reviewed by the superintendent, after which part of an interesting Bible stojy was read, entitled "The Boy in the Desert." The following contributed items : Joyce Allen, pianu solo; Winnie Richmond, Eva James and DulciiO Newsome, recitations; Jim Wright and Kitchener Crutoheley, solo, "A Boy:s best friend is his Mother." The action-song "Raise Your Hands," and chorus "We'll Never, Never, Never Touch the Wine," was' heartily sung by the Legion. An invitation was given to the older members to attend the Okoia L.T.L. entertainment, which takes place thsre next Friday week. A happy meeting closed with "God Save the King" and the Benediction. Our report of tho magnificent concert given last evening by M. Mirovitch and M. Piastro will appear in our next i&sue.
