AN URGENT APPEAL

A few days ago we published an urgent appeal for New Zealand assistance towards the Belgian Children's Fund, 'which is -being raised-to assist the starving children of Belgians who have fought so bravely tor trie cause of the Allies. Mr R. D. Paterson, with his ustuil forethought, is arranging for a fine concert in the Opera House on Thursday, the 24th inst,. when he promises to eclipse all his previous efforts— which is saying a good deal. Tickets arq being given to the children of the various schools, who.will.doubtless do brisk business. Full particulars will be published shortly. In the meantime music lovers and those who wish to help a deserynig object, should reserve the 24th for the concert.
