It is now certain that the X.M.S. Mbana will not arrive at Wellington from San Francisco until Sunday at tiie earliest..
The Canterbury Shipping Company's Breeze is expected to arri.e at Wellington from the south on Monday next, and departs for Wanganui on the same day. , The F.S. liner Devon is now due at Melbourne from Liverpool. After calL ing at Sydney she conies on to Auckland and Wellington, arriving at the latter port about the 25th inst. The Tarawera is due at Wellington this morning from Auckland with 127 tofts of cargo to discharge before proceeding thk evening to Lytteiton and Dunedm.
The Niagara, which arrived at Auckland on Sunday evening last from Sydney, cut out the 1281 miles journey in th» fast time of three days 3| hours, an average speed of 16* knots. The coastal steamer Putiki returned to Wellington yesterday from Terakohe with, a cargo of cement. The vessel will afterwards tak c on case oil c.x the Edgar ¥. Luckenbacli, and depart on Saturday for Wanganui. The buoy which had been attached to tho cable in Cook Strait disappeared recently, and has been xeplaeed by "the cable steamer Tutanekai. The position of the buoy is given as six miles distant, 60 degrees west, magnetic, of Otorangi Bay Point. The Shaw, Savill and Albian liner Corinthic was to leave Auckland at daybreak yesterday for Wellington, at which port she is due early to-morrow morning. The vessel left London on June 15, and had escort of two torpedo boats while crossing the Channel. The weather to Capetown was fair /but from thence to Hobart head-winds of considerable strength continued for some time.^,. Both at Capetown and Hoburt receptions were given to the soldiers who were returning by the Corinthic to the Dominion.
