SAWMILLERS' FEDERATION.

DUNEDIN, April 26. The following motions were adopt. Ed by the Samillers' Federation Conference;—*
That the Government be urged to increase the duty on Imported doors, sashes, mouldings, all manufacturing timber, and Oregon timber under 12 by 12 (or its equivalent); that the Workers' Compensation Act be amended to provide the payment of full ages during the hole period of incapacity, In more liberal benefits to injured orkers and their dependents, and that the Government be requested to take full control of accident insurance and compel employers to insure in the State oflBce; thai the Gov* ernment be urged to natinpalise che flourmilling industry and establish State bakeries; that the Government be -urged to ext<u*i the planting of waste lands with trees-suitable for milling purposes-''that the chief inspectors of factories in the chief centres be given the right .to institute proceedings for breaches of awards without firsc consulting the head office in Wellington; that the Government be urged; foprbceure State colliers as soon as possible; that the Government be urged to subsidise the funds of the Workers' Educational Association; that-the question of federated unions joining the Federation of Labour be left to individual unions for favourable consideration, and conference to discuss the matter next conference, that the Government be requested to provid local camps, increased pay for soldierg, a more liberal scale of pensions, greater concessions on railways, trams", ;etC:,?lbr soldiers., and to insure all married1 men'with dependants while on active service? '
