FIGHTING IN EGYPT.
THE QUATIA ENGAGEMENT.
IMPORTANT BRITISH SUCCESS
The High Commissioner reports as follows:—
LONDON, April.2s. In Egypt the fighting in the Quatia district was more .severe than at first intimated., ' ;; ;'•
The enemy casualties were severity killed, and they left behind 28; who were taken prisoners, also five thousand rounds of .small-arm ammunition, four machine-gun belt boxes full, 38 shells and 80 rifles.- •■.-:■•;■ ■
One of our mounted brigades was engaged all day with the enemy.
On Monday eight aeroplanes attacked Quatia, effecting a complete surprise. The hostile camp was' completely destroyed, and the enemy suffered severe casualises from the bombs dropped and machine-gun fire.
