ATTEMPTED TRAIN-WRECKING
TROOPS CONTROL SITUATION
LONDON, April 25
It the House of Commons, the Right Hon. A. Birrell stated that there were grave disturbances in Ireland, and 12 persons had been killed, but the situation was well in hand.
Reuter reports that it was announced in the House of Commona that there were riots in Dublin last night, and 12 persons were killed. The rioters are still in possession of parts of the city, but the troops control the situation.
Attempts were made to wreck a train near itfaryborough, 51 miles south-west of Dublin. A telegraph pole was laid across the track. Shote were fired at the men trying to remove the pole.
An engine »h - carriage load jf police was derailed, owing to the rails having been pulled up.
