The King and Queen travelled from Windsor in an open carriage. The King was in khaki and the Queen in mourning. -" .'■

There was brilliant sunshine, and enormous crowds thronged the streets, giving their Majesties a great ovation.

Tiiousahds thronged at Westminster. Their Majesties were received at the west door by the Dean and Chapter.. A simple service (as cabled) opened with Walsham Howe's hyimn after. Wesley's anthem, "Ascribe unto the Lord." The Dean pronounced an eulogitim of the heroic dead, and after Che singing of the "Recessional," and the Benediction, the "Last Post" rang out from fifteen bugles.
