OTAGO TOURNAMENT
(Per Press Association.) pUNEDIN, April 10. •The Otago Lawn Tennis Association's annual tournament opened to-day. Heavy rain fell last night and showers were experienced this morning, but- the weather cleared in time to allow play to be started at 1 p.m. Championship eventa resulted as follows:—
'Men's Singles (Ist round). —McDougall beat Dorward, 6-1, 6-2; Cranimond beat 'Moore, 6-1, 6-3; Jennings beat Paterson, 6-1, 6-0; J. S. Sinclair beat Lindsay, 4-6, 6-3, 6-0; Ollivier beat S. N. Brown, 6-3, 6-2; Wilkie beat Mirams, 6-3 6-1; Partridge beat Walker, 6-1, 6-3; Pearse beat Marcussen, 6-l 3 6-1; Wagner beat Broderick, 6-3, 6-2. Second Round.—J. S. Nicolson beat * Ormillan, 6-3, 6-4. Men's Championship Doubles (Ist round).—Brown Bros, beat- Black and •McDougall, 6-4, 62; Hatraway- and Scott beat Marison and McLachlan, 6-3, 6-0; A. and G. Nicolson beat Mai'cussen and Bradshaw, 6-2, 6-2; Wilkie and Bray bea^ Herbert and Henderson, 6-2, (3-0; Jennings and Pearso beat Lindsay and Walker, 6-0, 6-1. Second Round: - Meek.and Melody beat Scott and Botting. 6-1, 7-5.
