The prosecution of Captain White, the leader of the Larkinite procession in Dublin on March 14th, has been withdrawn on the ground that the trouble was due to a general misunderstanding. Captain White has withdrawn his charges against the police.
A signalman on the Newport- Monmouthshire line has patented a foolproof railway carriage door-closing mechanism. A rod running the whole length of the train is operaoie by the guard. The railway company has given £19000 for the patent.
