THE HOLIDAYS.

WHERE TO GO

: Witih the Eacter Holidays once, again; upon them, of local .residents will be': looking for something aii which they can put in their spare timer and enjoy themselves profitably. Today (Saturday) there will be many attractions for the general public in the way of sport. On the Rec. there will be two senior Rugby football matches, and, as these promise to provide good games, they sthould attract a large number of spectators. Then the many who still wish to enjoy the summer games mayr do so by patronising the big tennis tournament on the courts at the upper end* of Wilson St., and-the cricket match, Wanganui v. Auckland, on Cook's Gardens. The picture shows will also be open this afternoon, and a good windup to the day's outing can be had at the theatres to-night. On Easter Monday the attractions are many and varied. These are made up of public and semi-public gatherings. Perhaps that which will be most in favour is the up-river excursions, of which there are two —one during the whole day and the other in the afternoon. The sporting fraternity will be well catered for at the Feilding races,, for which special train arrangementshav© been made. The-majority of athletes and enthusiasts will in all proba-r bility wend their way to Wftitotara^ where the Ngarauru Maori sports will be held.' So far as Wanganui itself is concerned, there will be very little doing, on iMonday. There is Association, football on St. John's Hill and the contimu-' ation of the tennis tournament. Of interest to parents, relatives and old boy& of tlhe Collegiate School is the annual sports gathering of the students on the School grounds. Should the day be fine,, large numbers will probably find their way to the Castlecliff beach and the Aramoho Zoo. The picture entertainments in the evening should see the four; theatres packed; this will be a fitting conclusion to the Easter holidays for? 1914. .
