(Per Pres? Association.) AUCKLAND, April 10. A largely attended meeting of the executive council of the Chamber of j Commerce was held verts-May iafternno 1 to consider Earl Grey's " Dominion House" scheme. The president of the Chamber (Mr B. Brent) occupied the chair and the Mayor (Mr C. J. Parr) i and the'chairman of the Harbour Board (Mr J. H. Gunson) were also present and expressed themselves strongly in^ favour of the scheme. Mr Kent stated that the establishment on the proposed site of a Dominion House would enable (1) the Governments of the self-govern-ing Dominions and their various States and provinces to concentrate on one central site their offices, now widely distributed in different parts of London ; (§) the attention of Home consumers to be effectively and impressively focussed on the prod ucts of the Dominions oversea; (3) manufacturers of tihe United Kingdom to ascertain and to meet the requirements of Greater Bri-
tain. The meeting unanimously decided* to commend the,scheme to the favourable consideration of the Government. Earl -Grey, who arrived by the Niagara shortly afterwards, said that if New Zealand, Canada and South Africa were to agree to the scheme, it would be an accomplished fact.
