POPULAR FAREWELL TEA

On Monday afternoon, Madame Acfa Wray was the guest of honour at a farewell tea gTven by her pupils and the ladies' class and a very enjoyable time was spent. All sorts of good wishes were extended to Madame. Mrs T. Boswall Williams (Mayoress), in a very happy speech, said: I have been asked by Madame's pupils and her ladies' singing class to ask her to accept a small momento of the many pleasant hours we have spent under you. In using the word pleasant I wish to convey that it has been 1a pleasure to have had the opportunity of receiving tuition irom yon, owing to the fact that you are an enthusiast. The special knowledge you possess enables you to infuse all ■with whom you come in contact, with the faeling that they must improve. It is with sincerest regret we are parting with you, and we hope you will return to Wanganui in the near, future. May this small token of our esteem and appreciation be the means of reminding you of your all too short stay with us. May you enjoy a good passage and find all those near and dear to you enjoying good health. In conclusion, I can only «=ay au revoir. Mrs Williams then handed Madame Wray a case of solid silver tea spoons with greenstone handles and a lovely little greenstone envelope opener. Mr Wray, on behalf of Madame, in a few well chosen words acknowledgod the gift. Among those present were Madame Ada Wray, Mesdames Williams (Mayoress), Nicholas, Darley, Treadwell, B'raik, Powell, Woon, Leatham, Wall, Misses Gilfillan, Moore, Cummins, Wright, Gibbons, Treadwell, MacLean, Lambert (2), Russell, Eitzfherbert, Harrold, Allison and McDonogh.

I would suggest to my various readers to be sure and see the display of wedding photographs on view at the Tesla Studios (opp. the Post Office, Wanganui). These studios are well equipped for large or small groups, and an extra operator is also in attendance to take photos at the residence if required.

A remarkable skin food is "Poach
