Fears are entertained for the safety of the Astrakhan fishing fleets, the crews numbering ten thousand. A striking phenomena was the complete darkness while elsewhere there la rosy eky. The mud and rain are -disfiguring the houses, and frost is mining the orchards. There was blinding lightning without thunder. The peasants in the stricken area believe the cyclone to be a prelude to the Judgment Day.
