THE CHRISTCHURCH FOOTBALL FATALITY.
(Pfr Prpss Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, June 16. Samuel Plimsoll, aged 19, died last evening as the result of injuries received at football. He was a member of the ■ Christchurch Club's third grade team', which played the Boys' High .School: ■on Saturday. ; Apparently he got a1 kickc on the head, but did not; stop playing. He was unconscious yesterday morning, ; and died in tbj£ hospital from obrieus' sion. •An ' inquest was -held this afternoon ; onr the body of Samuel Plimsoll| a lad ■19: years of age, a:-foptballer,-'w3io • died at .the hospital yesterday -as .the; result of ari injury receiyed in tho" Boys' High : School V..- Cliristcfturch t-B: Presiderit's ■■ Cap .match' on Saturday. • Patrick Leo ' Madden, captain ,of the Christchurch, Pj^sbyterians' B, team, said at the time ,of i.\ip. accident the deceased was play-' ing in the forwards. There'was no rough play, at all in the first spell. Tho witness ,went.,to collar one of- tho High School team, and the deceased c'ol!aJ-ed him.. Deceased lay;ddwn for four or five seconds and seemed to oe jo. pain,v but got ■up',- and the Kamo"-M-is resunlexl.; Deceased played all ..through the .second half. Francis L.
