WELLINGTON PROVINCIAL CONFERENCE. SOME OF THE DISTRICT REMITS. The annual conference •of the Wellington Provincial District of the New Zealand Farmers' Union is. to be held at Masterton on the 27th arid 28th fusts. The following are'among'.the remits from branches in this district:— FROM WANGANUI. That the Government be requested to provide greater facilities for loading stock; .at flag stations. - That the time has come when the Farmers' Union should affiliate with the New Zealand Employers' .-.Af^ocf'atfonwith the object of combiniing, forces srgaiiiist- the unjust claims'.'of organised Labour. FROM MARTON. . ■ That it be. an-instruction from the Provincial ..Conference' to the Colcnitil Gonuferenceto wait noon the Minister and endeavour to obtain from him la pledge that the Government wiill not fail to bring up the Stallion Bill in the ■coming' session of Parliament. That the Government be again urged to tfte !ni^eforeni/ia:l ijatcn mi hardwood timber and imported coal on the New Zealand railways. That this Conference endorse the meditated action of tlie County Councils in taxing motor «a-rs* and that the money so .-raised be spent in the upkeep of tho .arterial i\>a<3s. That the Govejinment be requested to pa?i3 legislation that will prevent' «o\ve suiferine; fnom contagious mammit's being sold as dairy cows. . ■ FROM WAVERLEY. That all cows that have suffered from contagious mammitis be branded with 'a Government brand: to safeguard buyers <at stock auction sales. '? FROM MANGAWEKA. That this Conference set up a committee to consider the question of a reorgranisation sdieme for tho .Farmers' tmion. ' FROM FEILDING. lJfiat a continuous Boiard of Agriculture be founded and that its members b<v elected from A. !and P. Societies and othe ii'sources. FROM HUNTERVILLE. That.attention be drawn to the practice of the Riailway Department in turnin goff the growth along the railway lines and not sowing same; thereby encouraging the growth of fern and noxious weeds, and thus creating cover tor rabbits and other pests, and frequently lamaging by jfiro the private property of , ngnghbouring farmers.
