SIX DAYS' CYCLING
RUTT AND FOGLER WIN
NEW YORK, Dec. 15
Walter Rutt, Germany, won the final mile sprint in the six days' cycle race which bas just concluded on the Madison Square Gardens track. His partner was Jo© Fogler, of Brooklyn, New York, and the team covered 261 miles and five laps.
The distance covered in this race was much greater than in the races which took place last year and early this year at Sydney and Melbourne. But this is explained by the fact that the Madison Square Gardens track is a. small one built of wood, and high-banked in such a manner as to conduce to great speeds. In the six days' cycle race, which is taking place at Sydney cricket ground, an attempt is to be made 'to ©relate' a record for ia big track, and some of the men who are riding have competed with Rutt and Fogler in such events.
