P.O. PROMOTIONS AND CHANGES

The following promotions and changes, are notified by the Postmaster-^Gene-ral: Mr F. V. Waters (chief clerk, General Post Office) and Mr G. B. Dale (inspector of post offices), to be assistant secretaries; Mr D. Miller (chief postmaster, Wellington) to be chief inspector of post offices; Mi- J. C. Williamson (second clerk, General Post Office) .to ;be chief ckrk, iGienerial \Pcist Office.

In future, the officers in charge of the telegraph offices at the four chief centres and at Napier and Wanganui will bo known as superintendents. Similarly, the assistant officer in charge will ! bo assistant superintendent, and in tho case of the four chief centres there will be one secoaid assistant superintendent: Officers at present known as check clerks will in future be called supervisors and .assistant supervisors, as the case may be; In this connection, Messrs J. Alexander, J. E. Green, J. A. Russell and J. W.'Hall. senr., checkclerks at Wellington, Auckland, Christchurch and Dunedin respectively, are promoted to the positon of second asisistant superintendents. Messrs W. C. Yiatea and A. Elliott, check clerks at Napier and Wanganui respectively, are promoted to be assistant superintendents! Messrs V. A. Anderson, H. I. Bennett. W. Forrest, F. Aston, F. Craig, W. L. Essonu and J. Gillespie, check clerks, are promoted to be supervisors.
