TROUBLESOME FIREMEN.

AUCKLAND, Dec. 23
Trouble with firemen on vessels trading round the New Zealand coast seems to be increasing. Firemen sighing on tho cable steamer Iris to-day'for <a trip to Norfolk Island demanded £1 pe_r day. This was refused, and after great trouble the captain secured twenty men required at award rates.
