DALGETY AND CO.'S REPORT
Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual monthly sale of Wool, Skin. Hides, Tallow and Sundries on Friday, 13th inst., as below: — Wo offered an exceptionally -heavy catalogue of all classes, which met with keen competition before a good attendance of buyers at the following Quotations:
Wool.—The greater proportion of wool offered consisted of crntchings and dead. Crutchings, best lots s|d, medium 43d to sd, crossbred-6d to 7j|d; dead (>;] d to.7£d ; black, old ; locks and pieces, 3d to 4fd.
Sheepskins.—Prices realised showed •■in advance on all classes. Crossbred, <53d to G^-d; half-wools, 4 ld; shorts, 3.'id; dead hoggets, 44d to sd; dead ii-nd damaged, 4Jd to s£d ; butchers' crossbred, light 4s Id to 4s lid each, heavy 5s 2d to 6s 9d: salted, 5s Id. Hides.—Prices were on a par with last sale rates. Ox, best lots Qid to G7-8(?, medium Old to 6id; cows, best hues 6\d to 6.? d, medium and rough ssd to 5-id, cut 4fjd, slippy 4Jd, heifers and steers Grl. yearlings 6^d to 6^d, cut 4'id; horse. 7s to 8s 6d each; bulls, 5 3-Bd. Calfskins.—These met a keen demand and prices* realised showed a good advance on our last sale. Best lines d{d to 9 7-Sd, medium H\d to 8 7-Bd, light '/d. cut 6 5-Bd.
Sundries. —Tallow, in casks 26s 3d, tins 23s ')d to 245. inferior rough 17s; rabbit skins, 7d ; horse-hair, Is 7d; cow tips, Is.
