NAPIER, September 13. Questioned by. a. reporter-"regarding the date fixed for. the Rangitikei election, the Hon. T. Mackenzie said the Government had not the slightest idea trat it would clash with any local fixture, "but it seems to me," he added, "that hi future the-difficulty will be to fix the date of any function without clashing with a race meeting, football match or Government holiday. We ought, porhaps, to have a scale drawn np of the few days which may be re? :-gadded ■as free from those fixtures."
