DUNEDIN, July 2. Mary, Tansey, for sly-grog selling, wasfined this morning £*20. It was stated in evidence that in 33 weeks 793 gallons - of draught beer and 134 dozen bottles of beer-had ; been supplied to Tansev's licuseV formerly the Coach and HorsesHotel. Annie-Tansey, a daughter of the former accused, was lined 40s for selling liquor. r.< ■

At the- Magistrate's Court to-day,,. „ James -Hemingway, who is now serving.; three years' imprisonment for. extensive robberies in Wellington, was remanded till Wednesday on charges of" breaking into the premises of FandelF • and Phillips, in September, 1907, and stealing jewellery and fancy! goods, worth. £50, and in the same month breaking into C. H. Dickerson's warehouse and stealing tweed and clothingworth £10.
Michael ;Bremian, an elderly man,.. Mas remanded until Wednesday on charges;of breaking into the Rev. D... Johnson's 'residence and stealing a greenstone1 knife (worth £1) and three - .sovereigns on June 28th last, and at the same-tiniß breaking into St. Mark's Anglican Church, Wellington, and steal--ing £18" and certain other articles.

Three other doctors called for the defence said that the defendant's treatment of the case was correct.
The' jury, after 15 minutes' retirement, returned a verdict for tlie defendant.
His 'Honour1 entered up Judgment for defendant accordingly, with costs. ■ v
