DALGETY AND CO.'S STOCK REPORT.
At Wanganui, on the 24th inst., wo yarded 1100 sheep and 170 cattle. There was a-good attendance. A better- tone prevailed, competition being brisk, and we made nearly a total clearance, mostly under the hammer.
At Waverley, on 26th inst., we yarded 1500 sheep and 80 cattle. The attendance was exceptionally good. The bulk of the sheep consisted of good sorts of ewes, for which there was a keen demand, prices showing improvement. Competition was lively right through the bulk of the yarding under the hammer. Quotations: —
Wanganui.—F.m. ewes 6s 9d to 7s 4d, medium lambs 5s 7d, cull lambs 3s, 21----year bush steers £3 0 6d, 18-month do. 89s, medium 18-months steers £2 3s 6d, forward cows £3 6s, springing heifers £3 4s, good store cows £3, cows and calves £2 7s 6d, forward heifers £2 18s, 18-months heifers 37s 6d, mixed yearlings, 23s 6d, stags 255. Waverley—2 and 6-tooth ewes lls Id, 4-tooth ewes lls, small bush 2-tooth ewes 7s Bd, 6-tooth and f.m. ewes 9s 3d to 10s Bd, f.m. ewes 6s Bd, cull ewes 3s 6d, cull lambs Is 6d, 2-tooth Southdown rams £3 10s to £5, aged Border Leicester rams 355, mixed weaners 10s, 12s, 15s to 16s 6d, old cows 27s 6d, weaner pigs Bs, store pigs 17s.
