TURAKINA MAORI GIRLS' SCHOOL.

A large number of friends, Pakeha and Maori, assembled in the schoolroom on Tuesday afternoon to witness the distribution of prizes. Tho Rev. R. M. Ryburn presided. Short addresses were given by tho Chairman, Miss McGregor (from India), and R&v. W. R. Malcolm (from China). The girls sang a spng and one or two hymns. The Principal (Mi. A. G. Hamilton) and the Rev. R. McCully read reports of the examinations. Mrs. D. Gordon, of Marton, presented tho prizes, as fellows:— CLASS PRIZES. VI. : Tainui Te Waewao. • V.: Adelaida Thompson. IV.: Meri Hirbti. III.: Louie Stubbing. I.: Margaret Jones. SCRIPTURE KNOWLEDGE. Senior Division: Ist, Adelaide Thompson. 2nd, Froyle Cooper. Junior Division: Ist, Louie Stubbing. 2nd, Annie Aporo. Learning Bible Texts: Tinpa Wakautr. and Annie Simon Ist. HOUSE WORK. (Judged by Year's Marks). First, Tonga Rangihenea. Second, Kehu Downs. Juniors: Tuti Iwikau. SPECIAL HOUSE WORK PRIZES.
