Messrs. T^Baddeley and Forking hold their usual fortnightly sales in Wanganuii and Waverdey this week. In another column Mr E. Ellery Gilbert has a special advertisement with reference to John Singer's pianos, piano tuning, and music generally. Messrs R. H. White and Oo.'s clearing sales, which are only held once in every season, are with the. distinct object of clearing out the balance of the season's goods at greatly reduced prices rather than hold them over. White's sales are therefore thoroughly genuine, and the people knofw it and flock to them. R. H. White and Co.'s gigantic midsummer sale commenced on Friday morning, and duffing that day and Saturday the whole staff were kept particularly 'busy selling goods at (bargain prices. The firm, expecting a good rush, fortunately engaged extra assistants for the sale so as to avoid undue waiting. Nevertheless, the staff were often taxed to their utmost, especially on Saturday evening, when 'business was particularly fbriek— and no wonder, for 'bargains bristled in every department. Ear% this 'morning the staff will again be busy pulling out and displaying fresh (bargains. Members of the Economic and Cooperative Building .Societies are reminded that to-night is the Societies' paynight. 'Menvbers of the Co-operative Building Society in want of cheap money are reminded that an appropriation by 6ale of £300, in Wo sums of £150. each, takes ■place to-night (Monday), at 8 o'clock. Messrs C. L.
