Tho first match for tho Cohen and Hean trophies was played between Aimstrong and Sim and Fountain- and Miller. The two latter obtained a substantial lead, which they maintained unt.l the fin:tsh. Thie scores were: Fountain 14 heads, Armstrong 1. In these matcheel the game 'is decided by tho number of heads won, and not by the- number of points. On Saturday another match for the rink trophies was played. Fountain, President's and Vice-President's full Griffiths, Hatherly, and Elliott (skip) met Tyerman (playing for Hutton), Peake, Sdler, and Bennio (skip). Elliott's rink scored 9 ■in the first three heads, and although Bonnie made a gallant efforts to reduce the majority, and at one stage of the game almost equalised on the 19tih head. Elliott) led by 7. On the 20th head Bennies side .scored 4, but on tha 21st and final head; Elliott added another two, and won an interesting game by 21 points to 16. Benefield has now to meet Purnell, after which this draw for the semi-final will taße place. The draw for the Junior Singles as: Hemus pays Benefield, J. P&terson plays Cohen Milne plays Rodwell, Armstrong plays Keesing, Fountain playa Towsey, Elliott or Wright a bye. There was a large attendance on Saturday afternoon of bowfers and visitors.
