Per Press Association. HAMILTON, January 14. At the inquest on Albert Reed, plateIlayer, kilted :m 'collision with a train while riding on a jigger, a verdict of accidental death was returned. A rider waa added that the railway system was faulty, inasmuch as it does not provide that platelayera ]je advised of special tiiains, also that telephone communication should ba established at plateilayei-s' houses at out-stations. AUCKLAND, January 15. A fatality ia reported from Te Aroha. An .infant, the son of William Hartley, fell on a. swing and dislocated his neck. DUNEDIN f January 15. ■: f^fc^mas Ward, 22 years of age, a fireman on an engine, run over at Abbotsford during - shunting operations on Saturday, died from his injuries.
