Since the strike at Newcastle it is estimated that the loss in the sala of coal and wages is about £40,000.

The coal exported; from Newcastle lash year was 2,951,000 tons, a. decrease of 469,000 tons, and £289,000 in value, compared with the previous year. The decreasa was an all-round one. The exports to New Zealand fell off by 24,000 toni.
