THE ARRANGEMENTS.
All arrangements in connection witi the . -.bovo display aro complete in eveiy detail. To-night the opening ceremony • begins at '.15 o'clock sharp py His Worship the Mayor- (Mr A. Hatrick). -We understand that the member for the district, Mr A. D. Willis, M.H.R., Mr R. C. Biuee (who with the Mayor is patron of the Highland Corps) .ind Mr T. Mackenzie, M.H.R., from Wellington, will' also be present to take part m the opening ceremony. All performers are again reminded to be ; n their places sharp at 7 o'clock. On the other evenings during the week "Tho Birth of the Empire" begins at 7.30. Tiie Bazaar will be open on Wednesday afternoon for the .convenience of. country patrons from 1.30 to 's p.m. On Thursday afternoon there will be a grand matineer-be-■^inning nt 2.30 o'clock. Stall-holders, their', assistants, orchestra and performers are ' requested to present their tickets at the door, as no one will be admitted without a ticket. The price of admission is ls to the body of x the hall and,2s to the stage. ' Owing to 4Uch a large demand for tickets for the jpening night, no half tickets will be issued or admitted . ; to-night. Children under 12' hvjll be admitted to all the other performances, includingthe tVo afternoons, for 6d. .. The Council of thea_brps are asked to be at the hall at 6.30 sharp. Mr J. L. Beck's orchestra is engaged for tho week, and the Garrison and Sash and Door Factory Bands will play outside the hall on theiiirespective evenings from 7to 7.30 o'clock. The Highland Band of 12 meet nt the Newmarket Hotel each evening at 7 o'clock, and will parade the principal 'streets. \ Carriages may be ordered for 11 to-night, and for 10.30 nil other evenings. 'Busses to and from Aramoho will leave to suit patrons at .the conclusion of each night's performance ; fares, 6d each way. Special trains from Casllecliff will also nm to suit the opening aiid closing hours of "Ths Birth of the Empire."
