A yep.y and important Native meeting', called by Henata Ivawepo, is now being held at Omahu. Represen* tative chiefs from all parts of the province are present. The principal business is to ascertain to what extent Parlirunent has given effect to the recommendations made to it hv the greeting of the tribes at .Pakowhai in Afoy l&8ty and" to consider what subjects should be discussed at th® :.ext meeting to be held about May of aeit year.
