We are glad to be able to state that the salmon ova taken up to the heads of the Waipawa and Waikato Rivers last year, by Mr. J.C. Firth, have hatched out successfully, for last week a correspondent informs us that lie saw a young salmon, seven inches long, in a tributary of the Waipa, and not long since a young fish the same size was found dead in the Waipa River itself. —Waikato Times.
