DEATHS.

Inia te Marake, at Wangaehu, near Whanganui, on the 17th of September last. The deceased had long served the Government in the Native Contingent Force, in which he was advanced to the rank of Sergeant. He was recommended for a medal for distinguished services in the field during the West Coast campaign under Colonel Whitmore, and against Te Kooti, under Colonel McDonnell and Major Kemp, at Taupo. Txnibaxj Matenga, a young chief of Ngatimaniapoto, at theKuiti, Waikato, on the 24th. of September, 1874.
