KILLED IN ACTION
TWO MASTERTON AIRMEN. SERGEANT REPORTED WOUNDED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Sergeant John Morgan Read Welch is reported wounded, according to a N.Z.E.F. casualty list issued today. His next of kin is his father, Mr P. R. Welch, of Masterton. The following names appear in the air casualty list today:— KILLED ON ACTIVE SERVICE. Pilot Officer lan Campbell Bennington; wife, Mrs M. E. Bennington, of Masterton. PRESUMED DEAD, PREVIOUSLY RECLASSIFIED MISSING, BELIEVED KILLED. Acting Flight-Lieutenant James Henry Wright, D.F.C., of Masterton. Pilot Officer I. C. Bennington was well known in Masterton, his parents being Mr and Mrs “Joe” Bennington. He was associated with various local institutions and was held in high esteem by a wide circle of friends, who will deeply regret his death.
