FEATHERSTON

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MEETING AT KAHUTARA. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a good attendance at the Kahutara Women's Institute meeting held recently. The president (Mrs Hewison) welcomed three new members. The word-building and sketch competitions were won by Misses Corlett and Hood, respectively. Other competitions resulted:—Ginger nuts: Mrs Bund, 1; Mrs Pottinger, 2. Best bloom: Miss Dimes, 1; Mrs Hood, 2. Mrs Pottin.gcr won the potato growing competition with 221bs, from lib. of seed. The hostesses were Mesdames Welch and Wilson. Record Attendance at Dance. There was a record attendance at the dance held in the Kaiwaiwai Hall on Monday night, visitors being present 'from all parts of the district. Excellent music was supplied by Udy’s Orchestra. A novelty dance was won by Miss D. Anderson and Mr Stevens. The euchre winners were Mesdames Baker and Fairbrother and Messrs N. Burt and A. Feist. Supper was served by the ladies’ committee.

COSY THEATRE DOUBLE PROGRAMME. There will be a double programme shown tomorrow night. “Boston Blackie Goes to Hollywood” is a thrilling story featuring Chester Morris and Constance Worth. “Moonlight Masquerade” is a brilliant musical comedy starring Dennis O’Keefe, Jane Frazee. Eddie Foy and Betty Kean.
