KILLED BY RUSSIAN PARTISANS IN GUARDED HEADQUARTERS. SAVAGE REVENGE TAKEN. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.55 a.m.) LONDON, December 19. According to the Stockholm “Afton Tidningen,” which says some German newspapers have confirmed the report, Russian partisans killed Dr. Alfred Funk in his office, in Rowne, which is the headquarters of the German administration in the Ukraine. One hundred Rowne residents are believed to have been shot immediately and many more sent to concentration camps, to avenge the assassination. The report adds that the partisans disappeared without leaving a trace after the killing. The news caused a sensation in Germany because Rowne (in Eastern Poland) has been the seat of the Gestapo and SS since the fall of Kiev. The Germans are wondering how the ■partisans penetrated to Funk s office, which was always surrounded by SS and Gestapo officers. Funk, who was formerly President of the High Court of Konigsberg, is reputed to have been especially cruel even for a Gestapo official. _____
