CANADIAN TROOPS IN BRITAIN. MINISTER SAYS THEIR TIME WILL COME. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) OTTAWA, June 16. The Minister of Defence, Mr Ralston, in a speech, said that Canada s war expenditure was now three times the total expended during the whole of the last war and the demobilisation period. . _ . Canada has 140,000 troops in Britain. They had been a factor m deterring invasion. “Now they are calling for action/’ he said, “and then time will come.” . The total Canadian casualties in the three Services amounted to 5600. compared with 95,000 at this time m the last war. More than. 450,000 young men were volunteers in the Services today.
