OBITUARY

MR A. G. COLEMAN. The many friends of Mr A. G. Cole- > man, 73 Oxford Street. Masterton, will . regret to hear of his death which occurred suddenly at the Masterton Public Hospital yesterday afternoon. The late Mr Coleman, who was widely known and highly respected throughout the Wairarapa, was born in Tasmania and came to New Zealand at an early age. In his younger days he was a noted athlete, and competed at the chief sports meetings in Australia and New Zealand. At the outbreak of the Boer War Mr Coleman enlisted and served with distinction for two years, with the 7th New Zealand Contingent. The late Mr Coleman, who had been in indifferent health for the past two years, is survived by a son and daughter of his first marriage—Mr G. Coleman, Palmerston North, and Mrs R. Gibson, Wellington—and by one daughter and four sons by his second marriage, Messrs Eric Coleman, Taihapc; Roy Coleman, Levin (now serving overseas); Arthur Coleman, Levin; John Coleman, of Hastings, and Mrs J. H. A. Hawkins, of Masterton. The funeral will take place at Masterton at 11 o’clock on Monday morning.
