VIOLENT EXPLOSION

IN SYDNEY PAINT FACTORY. ONE MAN LULLED AND TEN INJURED. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY. June 20. An explosion heard a mile away demolished the paint factory' of Melters. Limited, in Alexandria suburb today. One employee. Ernest Edwards, aged 58. was killed when he was hurled into a large paint container. Ten others were injured, two of them critically. It is believed that the explosion originated in a muffler leading to a drying oven from which flames were observed followed by a terrific blast. Two walls and the roof of the paint shop were blown out. and the oven wrecked. Debris was spread over a wide area. Several employees were drenched with paint, and are suffering from shock.
