RIMUTAKA HILL
ROAD STILL DANGEROUS FURTHER SNOW FALLS THIS MORNING. USE OF HIGHWAY NOT ADVISED. The Rimutaka Hill Road remains in a dangerous condition and motorists arc advised not to attempt to negotiate the road unless they have no alternative. Further snow fell on the hill this morning. A track has been cleared but motorists who have attempted to cross have found their cars stranded all the same, as it is not always possible to keep the car on the track. As the conditions on the hill alter rather rapidly, and the conditions at any time are dangerous, motorists are well advised to seek alternative routes.
