The German Government has ordered the closing of all (United States consular offices in Germany and occupied countries by July 15, five days after the expiry of a similar order made by the American Government in respect to German consular offices in the United States. The German order applies also to the American Express Company. It is stated that the American consular offices and travel agency for some time had given cause for grave complaints that their activities were contrary to the interests of the Reich.
