HIGH COMMISSIONERS
EXCHANGE WITH AUSTRALIA. UNDER CONSIDERATION. (By Telegrayli—Press Association—Copyright) CANBERRA, June 18. In. the. ’House of Representatives tonight thU Labour Opposition leader, Mr Curtin, advocated that Australia and New Zealand should exchange High Commissioners with a view to advancing their mutual interests and ' tiefence. The Prime Minister, Mr Menzies, replied that this matter was discussed when he was passing through New Zealand and has been under consideration for some time. Mr R. Semple was in Canberra today and attended a meeting of the War Cabinet and exchanged views with the Minister of Defence on the requirements of the two countries. Commenting on this message, the Acting-Prime. Minister, Mr Nash, said yesterday that the question of an exchange of High Commissioners between Australia and New Zealand was discussed between Mr Menzies and himself when they were in Auckland recently and the matter was under consideration by the New Zealand Government.
