GREYTOWN

MAGISTRATE’S COURT SITTING HELD YESTERDAY. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly sitting of the Magistrate’s Court was held at Greytown yesterday. Mr Lawry. S.M., presided. For driving a motor car without having a current driver’s licence Samuel Hough, of Lower Hutt, was convicted and fined 5s with costs 10s. Gertrude Robertson was fined 10s and costs 10s for driving a motor car without having a warrant of fitness. Bernard Morgan was fined £1 and costs 10s for failing to renew a warrant of fitness for his motor cycle. Robert Rigg was fined 10s and costs Ils for having no warrant of fitness for his motor vehicle. Leonard Nimot was fined 10s and costs 12s for being found on the premises of the Greytown Hotel after hours. For assaulting Robert Hiscox, Noel Wallace and Reynaid Murray were convicted and fined £4 each. The evidence disclosed that Hiscox lost two teeth and was unable to follow his usual occupation for several days. The Magistrate ordered that half the fine be paid to Hiscox.

GOLF DRAW FOR SATURDAY. The draw and times of starting for the final round of the President's Trophy to be played on Saturday by members of the Greytown Golf Club is as under: — Miss Higginson and W. Home Guard. A Company of the 4th South Wairarapa Battalion of the Home Guard paraded at Grey town last evening and despite the bad weather the attendance was excellent. Bayonet fighting and physical evercises were carried out. Tenders. In this issue tenders are called by the Greytown Borough Council for a foundation wall. River Board Vacancy. The Ahikouka River Board advertise extraordinary vacancy and date for penalty on rates.
